  2. Aug 2, 2013 · Israel Kosher. It's a common misconception that all the McDonald's restaurants in Israel are Kosher, and that when you are in Israel you can pass by any Mickey D's and have a guilt-free cheeseburger off the Dollar Menu.

  3. Aug 11, 2022 · Kosher McDonald’s: for many young kashrut keepers, this combination of words is the holy grail — you can find 62 kosher McDonald’s all across Israel (you can also find one kosher franchise in Buenos Aires, FYI). But is it worth visiting McDonald’s in Israel even if you don’t keep kosher?

    • The McFalafel
    • Burgers and Chicken Nuggets
    • Corn Sticks
    • Tahini Dipping Sauce
    • Kosher For Passover Menu
    • The Low Down

No matter which McDonald’s you visit, there’s going to be a Big Mac on the menu (albeit the one in Israel holds the cheese), but as you move across the globe, some more culturally relevant items have made their way onto the list (like thesquid ink burgerin Japan). In Israel, you can find mini pitas like the ‘McFalafel’ or the ‘McKebab.’ Of course, ...

Upon recommendation, I ordered a chicken nugget meal, which was actually pretty good! Although, probably not worth a whopping 46 shekels ($15 USD). Still, I’ll admit, it’s pretty cool that you can get kosher nuggets and burgers.

McDonald’s corn sticks are basically chicken nuggets made with corn instead of meat. In Israel, corn schnitzelis actually super popular. It’s often the vegetarian/vegan alternative to regular schnitzel and a frequent kids’ menu item. You can buy frozen corn schnitzel at any grocery store and, in my opinion, it’s delicious. So while this item might ...

Given the multiple mini pita options, like kebab, falafel and crispy chicken, it only makes sense that McDonald’s would offer tahini. You can get tahini as a side sauce or add it to any of the burgers. I tried it and it was no different than the tahini you can get at the grocery store, but it’s a cool experience nonetheless.

All kosher McDonald’s are closed on Shabbat and are strictly kosher. So naturally, they have a kosher for Passover menu during the holiday. I didn’t go on Passover, so I can’t vouch for their kosher for Passover items, but this deserved an honorable mention.

If you’ve never tried McDonald’s, it makes sense to take that “McBirthright” opportunity while in Israel (or Argentina!). Where else in the world will you find corn schnitzel nuggets? But just like I would say about the McDonald’s experience in North America, if you skip it, you’re not missing much. Trust me, you’d rather have bubbe’s cooking over ...

    • Pork Is Strictly Off The Menu. Kosher or not Kosher, pork is strictly off the menu in McDonald's in Israel - like in general all around the Middle East.
    • Some Restaurants Are Kosher. Most Mickey D's restaurants in Israel are not Kosher. But most is not all and there are some McDonald's that are kosher. The main difference between McDonald's Kosher and non-Kosher restaurants in Israel is that Kosher branches do not operate on the Sabbath (Shabbat) and Jewish holidays, and they do not serve non-Kosher dairy products and cheeseburgers.
    • MyMac. The MyMac is a special offer that allows Israeli customers to build their own McDonald's sandwich. They offer all the typical condiments that customers love, but here you can choose which meat to pair with them.
    • Cornsticks. Cornsticks can be ordered throughout the day at McDonald's in Israel, but they are more popular as a breakfast item. They actually come paired with carrots in a Happy Meal, with the carrots acting as a hearty dessert option (really, the carrot is considered a sweet).
  4. Aug 6, 2021 · Despite the numerous Jewish contributions to the success of McDonald’s, many Jews, specifically those that follow kosher dietary laws, ironically cannot feast under the Golden Arches — at least in the United States.

  5. Aug 22, 2022 · Israel's three largest hamburger chains, McDonald's, Burgeranch, and Burgerim, have announced a switch to using exclusively mehadrin-level glatt kosher meat.

  6. Mar 13, 2006 · Fast food giant McDonald's "golden arches" logo will be trumped by the blue and white of Israel's flag after the hamburger chain bowed to pressure from Tel Aviv's chief rabbi Israel Meir Lau to distinguish its kosher restaurants.
