  2. I watched this movie not too long ago after seeing it recommended here. I definitely disliked her the most at the end, but as I see it they were both still equally responsible. I don't think any one or the other deserved more of the fault. She seemed like such a sad, sorry character in general and I think he really wanted to rescue her.

  3. A big topic in this movie is generational trauma from parental relationships. Williams grew up with parents who were in an emotionally abusive relationship so now that's how she models family relationships. The only person that Williams is hurting in this story is herself (and maybe her kid) by staying in that cycle.
