A Doric-style temple with Diana's name inscribed on top, situated across from the lake, is a tourist attraction during July and August when the house and estate are open to the public, although the exhibition centre, situated in the old stable block, closed permanently in 2013.
If you are expecting a shrine to Diana, this isn’t what Althorp is about. It is a beautiful stately home with lovely paintings of Spencers from yesteryear. No photos are allowed inside and that is fair enough as it is still the home of the Earl and his family.

Althorp is the Spencer family home and estate which is open annually in July and August. It is located near Great Brington on a road a short distance from the St. Mary / St. John Church. The grass public car park is on the right across the road from the Althorp Park Gateway entrance.
