IMO, yes I believe 2011 was the best year of the 2010s. My personal favorite year of my life so far. With the exception of the movies released during that time, the pop culture was exceptionally amazing.
2011 was a good year for film, and particularly for depictions of faith in film — but not in the Hollywood mainstream on either count. This year, in one Hollywood film after another, religion was strikingly absent in tragic or crisis-filled times.
