There’s a great satire to be made about our modern interaction with journalists, and how gullible the American people can be when it comes to how reporters shape stories to their own benefit. “Special Correspondents” is not that movie. Honestly, I’m not sure what movie it is.

With Ricky Gervais, Eric Bana, Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald. A radio journalist and his technician get in over their heads when they hatch a scheme to fake their own kidnapping during a rebel uprising in South America and hide out in New York instead.
Not without its moments, Special Correspondents, unfortunately, does not have enough for me to recommend this. Two down on their luck men fake a kidnapping while they hide out in New York. Best Performance: Eric Bana
