Plot. Chicago native Ren McCormack and his mother Ethel move to the small town of Bomont, Utah to live with Ren's aunt and uncle. While attending church, he meets Reverend Shaw Moore, his wife Vi, and their daughter Ariel. Ariel rebels against her father's strict religious nature and behaves recklessly. At school, Ren befriends Willard Hewitt.
