  1. Dec 12, 2019 · The Allred score combines the percentage of positive cells and the intensity of the reaction product in most of the carcinoma. The 2 scores are added together for a final score with 8 possible values. Scores of 0 and 2 are considered negative. Scores of 3-8 are considered positive. 4. Allred or H-score measures have remained associated with survival-related outcomes in multivariate models in a number of studies, possibly due to inclusion of ER intensity as a component [8,5,12]. The correlation between good prognosis tumor characteristics and increasing ER positivity that we identified also has been noted in a number of investigations [ 29 , 8 , 30 , 25 ].

  5. Aug 10, 2019 · A shortcoming of the Allred scoring system exists, since some of the possibilities for the final score are only hypothetical (3 + 0, 4 + 0, and 5 + 0) (Table 1). One may say that our study overcomes such shortcomings based on the strong positive correlation between the quantitative nuclear stain intensity and the percent of ER-positive nuclei ( Figure 5 , down).

  8. their Allred /Quickscore. Reports should include the overall percentage of positive cells and the average intensity regardless of whether additional scoring systems, such as Allred or H score, are also reported. All cases showing <1% of tumour cells positive should be classified as receptor negative regardless of their Allred score.
