Flanimals is a book series written by comedian Ricky Gervais and illustrated by Rob Steen. It depicts an assortment of seemingly useless or inadequate fictional animals and their behaviour. The cover Flanimal is the Grundit.
Flanimals were first sighted by Ricky Gervais a long time ago. He drew some rough sketches and made notes about their behaviour. Then, Ricky asked his friend Rob Steen to draw them properly, anatomically correct and exactly as they appear in their natural habitat.
Ricky planned to make an 80 million dollar film for Flanimals which had a cast of Karl and potentially Steve Carell, made by the same people who created despicable me. In the midst of this Ricky was sued by an author named John Savage who claimed Ricky had taken his idea from a book he wrote some years earlier, a claim which Ricky denied.
Ricky Gervais has spent a lifetime exploring the finer details of the world of the Flanimals. Now he seeks to answer some of the most important questions in Flaminology in his own words. He deals with such thorny issues as: Where did all the Flanimals come from? What were they doing there? How do you get from a Humpdumbler to a Puddloflaj?
