    Harold Stirling "Mike" Vanderbilt was born on 6 July 1884 to William Vanderbilt and Alva Krskine Smithin Oakdale, New York. Mike married Gertrude Conoway. They had no children. Mike died on 4 July 1970 in Newport, Rhode Island. He is interred, along with his wife, at St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
