    Amantha Starr is the main protagonist of the film Band of Angels (1957), she is sometimes referred to as Manty. She is also the daughter of Aaron Starr and his slave mistress Louisa.

    Amantha, called "Manty" by her father and friends, grew up not knowing her racial background. All she knew about her mother was that she was named "Louisa", as engraved on her tombstone. Her father Aaron Starr, sent her to a finishing school in Cincinnati, when the slave Shad, was about to tell the truth.

    She is played by Yvonne De Carlo, a beautiful 1950's actress who had previously starred as Sephora, in The Ten Commandments (1956).
