Sir Stephen John Cleobury CBE (/ ˈ k l iː b ər i / KLEE-bər-ee; 31 December 1948 – 22 November 2019) was an English organist and music director. He worked with the Choir of King's College, Cambridge, where he served as music director from 1982 to 2019, and with the BBC Singers.

Nov 27, 2019 · Sir Stephen Cleobury, St John's Organ Scholar (1967-71) and Director of Music at King's College for 37 years, has died aged 70. Stephen passed away peacefully in York, where he had lived since his retirement in September, in the evening of 22 November after a long illness.
