I was going to let someone use my old iPhone 5s, so I reset the data, and gave it to them after I checked to see that it started clean with the Hello screen. When they tried to use it, they found that on about the third page of the setup process, it asked for a 6 digit passcode.

Jul 4, 2023 · Level 1. 4 points. iPhone asking for password after restore. A few months ago my boyfriend's phone broke so I restored my old iPhone 7 to see if he wanted that to use. I reset it through the settings app on the phone itself. He ended up not wanting it anyway because he prefers android devices (lol).
