Rampart Range was filmed in March 99, they used their own sawn off weapons because Eric cut his hand and you see him picking at his scabs at the table (ew) in the Eric in Columbine video. I believe they edited it on the school computers because other students had seen it prior to the massacre and never reported it.
Filming also took place at Allegheny County Jail, 950 Second Avenue, Pittsburgh, and at the Greater Pittsburgh National Airport, to the west of the city. Clarice Starling works out of the real FBI training HQ, Quantico, Virginia, on the US Marine Corps Base about 40 miles southwest of Washington DC.

Perhaps the most “local” part of Lake Effects is that it’s written and produced by the daughter of a local couple, includes original music by local bands, and features many locals as extras.

Jan 25, 2021 · Parts of the film were made at the Virginia amusement park Kings Dominion, and the conclusion takes place at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The opening sequence — featuring the deadly coaster crash — was made at the former Ocean View Park, also in Virginia.
