Feb 25, 2017 · In 2013, Virginia native David Baldacci saw his novel come to life in cinema form. Wish You Well was shot in various Southwest Virginia locations, including scenes shot at Cascade Falls in Pembroke (as seen in the trailer above).
From October through March the Rampart Range location is snowy and often closed. It is up in the mountains. I don’t remember snow on the ground in the videos. Good questions. If it was his shotgun, then it had to be after Nov. 15th 1998 approx.
Instead, I noticed a dirt road on the map that parallels the Interstate, but runs along a mountain ridge. Rampart Range Road begins at Garden of the Gods, so I paid my second visit to the park. The southern end of Rampart Range Road is located near the southwestern entrance to the Garden of the Gods.

- Bull Durham (1988) Asheville, N.C. This late-80s box office hit starred Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins, and it focused on the follies of the Durham Bulls, a minor league baseball team in Durham, N.C. However, the ball park scenes were actually filmed at historic McCormick Field in Asheville, N.C.
- The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Chimney Rock, N.C. The 535 million-year-old monolith that protrudes from the top of Hickory Nut Gorge provided the setting for some of the most dramatic moments of the film, including the final chase and fight scenes.
