Rampart Reservoir is a reservoir 12 miles (19 kilometers) northwest of the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado in the Pike National Forest. The reservoir supplies the domestic drinking water for the city of Colorado Springs and serves as a recreation area for boaters, mountain bikers, and hikers.
Rampart Reservoir rests on a granite plateau at 9000 ft of elevation, about 10 miles northwest of Colorado Springs and 4 miles east of Woodland Park. It is one of the favorite fishing, hiking, biking, and picnicking areas in the region.

May 16, 2022 · Rampart Reservoir loop is an 11 mile hike located just outside of Woodland Park, Colorado. In my opinion, this spot is a hidden gem in central Colorado as it really makes you feel like you are outside of Colorado and somewhere else in the country.
Rampart Reservoir is situated in Pike National Forest and can be found northwest of Colorado Springs. The reservoir is located on a granite plateau approximately 9,000 feet above sea level and consists of a body of water with a capacity of 13,000,000,000 US gallons.
