1922. 18 October – The British Broadcasting Company is formed. 14 November – Following the closure of numerous amateur stations, the first BBC broadcasts from London (station 2LO ). 15 November – First broadcasts from Birmingham (station 5IT) and Manchester (station 2ZY ).
