For the vast majority of users, folks have been stuck at the wireless settings screen--in other words, they're stopped at wifi, not at the SW update screen or anywhere else. Some on Passports have not had this issue but this fix is the one that is confirmed to work for all BB10 users and all devices.
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to join. A blue tick beside a network name means that you're connected. If you see Auto-Join disabled under Settings > Wi-Fi > [Your Network], tap the More Info button and then tap Auto-Join.
