That tradition continues as the Penmen men's basketball team heads to the Elite Eight Tournament in Evansville, Ind., as NE-10 champions and winners of the NCAA Division II East Regional. The Penmen look to duplicate a Division II National Championship achieved this past season by the Penmen soccer team.
SNHU captured its first NCAA regional title since the Penmen won three straight regional crowns from 1993-95. The Penmen also won regional titles in 1979, 1980 and 1987.
The 2013-14 year was also one of the most prolific in school history. Individual feats included a national Player of the Year, six All-Americans and 19 All-Regional selections to our teams, that earned five NCAA berths, including the men's soccer national championship and a conference-best five NE-10 championships.
SNHU excelled in the classroom as well. The Penmen had over 80% of its teams carry a 3.0 or higher GPA with women's lacrosse and men's ice hockey winning the NE-10 Team Academic Excellence Award for the highest GPA in the conference.
