Oct 11, 2023 · It works excellently as a dark standalone moment on what is otherwise a charming album. And as an overall pivot, Mississippi is remarkably well-executed. Like with Eady’s typical work, it might still be a tad too dry and sleepy for some, but for those with an ear for his subtly great projects, it’s a real highlight in his discography.
