Miss Porter's School (MPS) is a private college preparatory school for girls founded in 1843 in Farmington, Connecticut. The school draws students from many of the fifty U.S. states, as well as from abroad.
We believe tuition costs should not be an obstacle in educating young women. We offer need-based financial aid, merit scholarships and payment plans to meet the cost of a Porter’s education. We work closely with all families through the entire financial aid process with respect to individual family circumstances.
Though the school's first year saw only 18 students enrolled, the emphasis on young women's education in sciences, languages, mathematics, literature, and the arts soon made it a very popular choice for the affluent families of Farmington.
Founded in 1843 by lifelong scholar and educator, Sarah Porter, Miss Porter`s School is a college preparatory boarding and day school for girls in grades nine through 12. Porter`s offers a diverse high school experience with 335 students hailing from 25 states and 35 countries.
