I recently got a BB and cannot get the password right. I am told I get 10 tries by my BB, but after entering it in 20+ times, it still says I have only entered 6/10 times. I cannot remember it, and it seems frozen on 6 so that I cannot reset. It is a brand new one running OS 10.

No, it's not possible. It's part of BlackBerry's secure OS to wipe the phone after 10 incorrect tries. There is a way to extend the count that requires plugging the phone into a computer, and I believe, requires a connection to the BlackBerry account services for authentication.
