Most of the time, a “soft” reset is all that’s necessary, but sometimes you need to take it a bit further. I recommend trying a soft reset first, and if that doesn’t work, try a hard reset.
You may need to use a OTP (One-time passcode, learn more here about how to set up that) to enroll your device in Google Account Manager, Google Settings, and Blackberry Google ID. I recommend you play that as you go and see if you need one or not.
