Oct 19, 2023 · I once forgot the password to my Google Pixel 4. I couldn’t access my settings to perform a regular factory reset. Using my computer and ADB commands, I successfully reset my phone. It was a lifesaver. But it is also pretty involved, requiring cables, software, and quite a bit of time.

Follow these instructions to change or reset your Android passwords

You may use two passwords regularly on your Android phone: your lock screen pin or password and your Google Account password.
To change your Google Account password from your Android device, follow these steps:
1.Open your device settings, click on Google, and then Manage your Google Account.
2.Tap on Security.
3.Under the heading “Signing in to Google,” tap Password. You may be asked to sign in by providing your current password.
4.Enter the new password, then tap Change Password.
Your new password will take effect immediately. You’ll be signed out of all your devices except those used to verify your identity when signing in (for so-called two-factor authentication) and specific mobile devices and home devices with third-party apps that have been given access to your account.
If you’ve lost or forgotten your Google Account password, you’ll need to follow these steps to reset it:
1.From your web browser, go to accounts.google.com. If you remember the email address, you used for your account, enter it and click on Forgot password. If you can’t remember your email, click on Forgot email.
2.Google will ask you a series of security questions to confirm it’s you trying to access your account and then send you an email. Check your spam or bulk mail folders or search for “noreply@google.com.” Try again if you haven’t received an email after a few minutes.
3.A link in the email will allow you to change your password. Be sure to select a strong password you haven’t used before.
Security enhancements in recent versions of Android hardware, firmware, and software have all made it much more difficult to access an Android phone without the lock screen pin, password, or sequence. There are a few things you can try.
First, if you’ve set up the Smart Lock feature to unlock when it detects your home WiFi automatically, try taking your phone home, and it should automatically open for you. Otherwise, if you’re using a Samsung device and have registered it with a Samsung account, you can use Samsung’s Find My Mobile website to unlock your phone remotely.

Feb 7, 2024 · Press and hold the Power button, wait for the menu to appear, then select Power off. When the Reboot to safe mode window appears, confirm by selecting OK. Once in Safe Mode, delete the third-party lock screen application to remove lock screen settings. From there you can reinstall the lock screen app and set a new password.
If you have trouble with an App Password on your device: On the browser, allow access to your Google account. Enter your username and password, then enter the letters on the screen. Go back to the app you want to access and enter your App Password.
Select the Phone Link from the list. Toggle Off and On Phone Link. Relaunch Phone Link on your PC by tapping Open Phone Link. If this doesn't work, you'll need to reset your apps on both devices. On your Android device: Go to your Settings > Apps (or Apps & Notifications on some devices) > Link to Windows. Tap Force Stop and confirm when prompted.
