Jul 4, 2023 · Using a USB cord, plug your Playbook into the PC. The autoloader will wipe and install the BB10 Dev Alpha on your Playbook. When done, the Playbook should restart. On the initial setup screen, tap the Skip button many times as fast as you can. This will blow past all the setup screens.
You will hear the Screen Reader start reading off comments about Blackberry ID, even though you will see the Wi-Fi setup screen that you've been stuck on for weeks. Wait until you heard the Screen Reader say "Skip" then IMMEDIATELY double tap the screen at the top right (where it says "You need a data connection to continue"), then swipe to the left with one finger.
The workaround to get past the setup screens can take a few tries of back and forth. I've tried this on two installs and successful both times. My biggest problem was finding a way to sideload apps. The Google Chrome extension doesn't work anymore. When this Dev Alpha PlayBook is connected to the PC, it won't connect.

Around a few months ago, u/aLdroBSe found a way to skip the initial setup screen on the PlayBook, which has been a problem since the BlackBerry activation servers were decommissioned. Here's an excellent guide by u/thejuanvisu using the method above. but the problem with this method is that there wasn't a way to downgrade the PlayBook back to a non-developer version of PlayBook OS.
Nov 25, 2011 · Heres the fix guys: 1. fire up your bb desktop manager. 2. plug in your PB while still on. 3. now reset the PB by holding down the power button until it reboots. 4. when it reboots the desktop manager will show an error, click on the update icon. Desktop manager will now unbrick your PB. It will take about 25 min to unbrick.
