The AFI Conservatory is a private non-profit graduate film school in the Hollywood Hills district of Los Angeles. Students (called "Fellows") learn from the masters in a collaborative, hands-on production environment with an emphasis on storytelling .
Located in the filmmaking capital of the world, the AFI Conservatory is nestled in the hills overlooking Hollywood. The picturesque eight-acre campus is in the center of the professional filmmaking community with easy access to studios, networks and post-production facilities.
The AFI Campus is located in the Hollywood hills overlooking Los Angeles. Our address is 2021 North Western Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027. The AFI entrance is shared with the main entrance to Immaculate Heart High School and Middle School.
Mar 14, 2024 · Campus tours are offered on Thursday mornings at 10:00am. Space is limited for tours, and a reservation is required at least 48 hours in advance. Space will be limited to 20 visitors per tour.
Jun 15, 2022 · THE SOUND OF MUSIC was directed by AFI Life Achievement Award honoree Robert Wise, who also served as Chair of the AFI Conservatory (then called the Center for Advanced Film Studies) – and Andrews was the 2022 recipient of AFI’s highest honor for a career in film, with her tribute held on June 9, 2022, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles!
