5-25-77, released as 25-5-77 in the United Kingdom, is a 2022 coming-of-age film written and directed by Patrick Read Johnson and produced by Fred Roos and Gary Kurtz. It stars John Francis Daley as a teenage director living in Wadsworth , Illinois , and his excitement for the premiere of Star Wars on May 25, 1977.
In Patrick Read Johnson's "5-25-77," John Francis Daley (best-known as the great Sam Weir in "Freaks & Geeks") plays, basically, Patrick Read Johnson, who visited his idol Steven Spielberg on his spring break in 1977 (while Spielberg was finishing up "Close Encounters").
The acting performances in "5-25-77" were quite good. Sure, the movie was watchable, but this is by no means a movie that impressed me. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time. My rating of of "5-25-77" lands on a four out of ten stars.
