Phillip Noyce AO (born April 29, 1950) is an Australian film and television director. Since 1977, he has directed over 19 feature films in various genres, including historical drama ( Newsfront , Rabbit-Proof Fence , The Quiet American ); thrillers ( Dead Calm , Sliver , The Bone Collector ); and action films ( Blind Fury , The Saint , Salt ).
In 2016 Noyce directed the first night of the Emmy nominated miniseries Roots (2016). In 2017 Noyce directed the pilot and first episode of Fox Network's medical show The Resident (2018) reuniting him with Emily VanCamp, who starred in Revenge. In 2018 Noyce directed the feature Above Suspicion (2019), starring Emilia Clarke and Jack Huston.
