      • In short, “Wings of Fire” is an exceptionally well-written children’s series with copies to be found in nearly all libraries. The series is unfortunately limited by its target audience and lacks the appreciation of older groups with greater understanding of the amazing themes in the books.

  2. In my opinion, absolutely. Wings of Fire is my favorite book series and I believe it's very good. I think the author really specializes in writing interesting, unique, and fun characters. Wings of Fire is definitely one of the better dragon-based book series out there.

    • Darkstalker (Legends) Most fans consider this to be the best written book in Wings of Fire overall, even if it's not their favorite, but I'm one of the people who consider it the best book of the entire series.
    • Escaping Peril (Arc 2) Still my favorite main series book in the entire series. I find Peril's POV to be very fun to read, and even if Arc 2 wasn't very well written, Peril's great dialogues and character makes up for it.
    • Moon Rising (Arc 2) People either overwhelmingly love this book or hate this book just to spite Moonwatcher. Personally, I think this was one of the better books because Moon's ability to read minds made for a very interesting dialogue and story in my opinion.
    • The Lost Heir (Arc 1) The most popular Arc 1 book overall. Even though Tsunami isn't my favorite character, the SeaWing society and the mystery theme was more interesting than the other books in the arc in my opinion.

  4. Jan 27, 2021 · The writing really is that good. Some parents have complained that the books are overly violent and graphic. The story is set in wartime, after all, and the dragons’ perception of “scavengers” (humans) is dismissive and violent. In one scene in book one, a villain dragon bites a human’s head off quite suddenly.

  6. Feb 6, 2020 · To summarize, I think that the Wings of Fire books are great to read with younger kids, so long as you are aware of the fighting/violence the text contains. The violence/blood is why I recommend that kids be a little bit older before they are given the books to read independently, perhaps in the 9-10 age range.
