Grimma ( Upper Sorbian: Grima, pronounced [ˈɡʁʲima]) is a town in Saxony, Central Germany, on the left bank of the Mulde, 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Leipzig. Founded in c. 1170, [citation needed] it is part of the Leipzig district.
Only a few miles from Leipzig, the small town of Grimma is a delight, with historic architecture, fascinating local history and an enchanting river setting.

Geography and History. Sorbland is located in the northwestern part of the European continent, north of the German border and east of the Czech Republic. Geographically, it is a hilly region of the Central Sudetes mountains. It was also covered by lush forests and had a rich biodiversity.
Located in the heart of Saxony and not far from Leipzig, the small town of Grimma is a top destination with a romantic historic town centre featuring splendid town houses and a beautiful town hall.
Grimma is situated in the state of Saxony about 25 km southeast of the city of Leipzig and some 16 km south of Wurzen in the Muldental valley. Although it only has a population of around 28,000, it is the fourth largest town in Saxony by area.
