Backnang. In the Backnang Bayou around 30 km to the north-east of Stuttgart at the gates of the nature park "Swabian - Franconian Forest". The district city presents itself at the interface between the forests, hills and valleys of the Swabian-Franconian Forest and the Stuttgart region.
The beautiful historical town of Backnang is just over 24 km or 15 miles away from Stuttgart. It sits along the banks of the River Murr, in a countryside filled with rolling hills and fruit orchards. In 1900, there were about 7,650 people living in this area.
The town of Backnang is located in the northeast of the Stuttgart region, at the gateway to the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. The city is well integrated into the national transport network via the B14 and the Stuttgart-Backnang-Nuremberg-Berlin railway line.
