When Pat Garrett is about to become the local sheriff, he visits his old friend William Bonney, aka Billy the Kid, and gives him one week to leave the area. When he doesn't, he's arrested and will soon hang. However, he manages to escape, and Garrett sets off after him.
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Pat Garrett has given up riding with Billy the Kid and is now a sheriff. But cattle ranchers want him to rid the territory of Billy. After he escapes, Pat puts a posse together and a chase ensues culminating in a final showdown.
