Note: Some larger breadboards will often isolate one half of the breadboard’s power rails form the other half (think top and bottom half, not the sides). This is convenient if you have two different voltages with which you need to power your circuit, such as 3.3V and 5V.

Some manufacturers may choose to paint indications regarding where to connect the positive and negative rails, but those are just a guideline.
