Sep 29, 2017 · Paiste’s 900 Series is an all-new line that occupies the price point held by the company’s now discontinued Alpha series. Launched without advance publicity at this year’s NAMM, it is packed with a comprehensive selection of crashes, splashes, hi-hats, rides and chinas.
The core of the series focuses on Crashes and Rides of medium and heavy weight in a wide range of sizes. A variety of Hi-Hats, Splashes and Chinas round out a full program that covers a wide range of stylistic needs. The 900 Series sets the new standard for advanced sound at a reasonable investment.
Nov 5, 2019 · The 900 series seems a little more versatile and more all around/modern, much like the Alpha series they replaced. As far as production goes, you're correct that they're all B8 alloy, and all of them are stamped, much like all of Paiste's B8 alloy lines.
Jul 16, 2017 · Paiste is notorious for canceling/re-naming/ changing names for series of cymbals. Some of the lines they've discontinued or renamed over the years: formula 602, 1000, 2000, 3000, sound formula, dimensions, twenty, etc.
Apr 19, 2020 · The Paiste 900 series is in my opinion a step up from the Meinl HCS line, because the HCS line is made from inferior material compared to the 900 series (same material as the 2002 line). I think if your want to compare for comparison; put a 16" HCS crash next to a 16" 900 crash or a 20" HCS ride next to a 20" 900 ride.
Innovative design provides 900 Series cymbals with greater flexibility, resulting in a giving feel and outstanding playability. The overall sound is warm and full with subdued, discreet brightness. Heavier and larger models add abundant brilliance, cut and projection.

Jan 14, 2024 · Keeping that in mind, the 900 series cymbals allow drummers to get the similar sound of the 2002 series – since the alloy used for producing them is the same. This counterpart of the 2002 series is great to have if you can’t afford the best out of the best Paiste offers.
