  4. Dec 26, 2021 · Dec 26, 2021 #1. Sorry to report the passings of Rich Fifield (lead guitarist) and Jim Gallagher (drummer) of The Astronauts. Both were age 78. Rich was a good friend and a fantastic lead guitarist. The Astronauts recorded a dozen or so albums for RCA back in the 60’s.
