Feb 21, 2015 · Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects is pleased to announce Screen Gems, our first solo exhibition with Brad Eberhard in galleries three and four. This exhibition includes 20 intimately scaled paintings; some in frames constructed from found objects, others collaged and sanded.
It was responsible for television production, TV movies, syndicating the Columbia Pictures movie library, and starting in 1958, The Three Stooges shorts starting with the Curly series. Screen Gems became a fully-fledged studio in 1951 by moving into Telefilm syndication and later into television production in 1952.
In 1931, the company was relocated to Los Angeles and Winkler Pictures became The Charles Mintz Studio. Columbia Pictures Corporation released their cartoons starting in 1929 and then later acquired a stake in the company in 1933 and launched " Screen Gems ".
Pioneer Telefilms was renamed to Screen Gems after the acquisition. It was responsible for television production, TV movies, syndicating the Columbia Pictures movie library, and starting in 1958, The Three Stooges shorts starting with the Curly series.
