The Artifact is the 37th episode of Legends of Chima and the 11th episode in Season 3.

The eagles, wolves, ravens, rhinos and gorillas are all looking for Li'Ella with no luck, Eris makes a final search and returns to the Lion City. On her way, Eris has another vision with the panther on her jet, and Mount Cavora falling again. Too invested in the vision, she crashed into the Lion Temple and destroys the lion statues. Eris tells Laval and Flinx about how real her vision was and about her worries, Laval says they must find Li'Ella first and that means going underground after the hunters, and there's only one cat who can do it.

Meanwhile in the Phoenix Temple, Tormak is staring at the Artifact, questioning Li'Ella's location. Fluminox tries to comfort Tormak by telling him about his own failure that haunts him to this day, and tells Tormak that he alone understood Fluminox' position. Fluminox has his regret about the action, but Tormak says that protecting your loved ones is not a reason for regret. Fluminox trusts Tormak, and calls him his savior, his healer and his friend.

In the Gorge of Eternal Depth, the Hunters are building a new Ice Mountain, and Sir Fangar discusses with Stealthor a way to stop the Phoenix from making another Illumination. Sir Fangar claims they need the Artifact for the map of the Fire Wings, and Stealthor gets worried from all the defenses around it, but Fangar has someone else in mind to steal it. Tormak looks around for Li'Ella in the tunnels, meets Sir Fangar and chases him. Fangar orders Tormak to steal the Artifact or he'll never see Li'Ella again. In the meantime the hunters are planning the wedding of Li'Ella and Sir Fangar atop the Spiral Mountain, and Razar spots them.

Back in the Phoenix Temple, Tormak covers his daughter's guarding spot along with Lundor, sees Li'Ella's double-headed axe and gets emotional with memories. Tormak cries a bit, takes a look at Li'Ella drawing, goes out and decides that he can't bear the thought of never seeing Li'Ella again, and signals the hunters. Tormak goes back into the temple, steals the Artifact, and knocks out all of the guards in his way, including Lundor. Tormak meets Sir Fangar and his Hunters outside, Fangar wants to get the Artifact, but Tormak wants to see Li'Ella first, Fangar says that he need to make sure Tormak won't attack them and keep the Artifact, and tells him to bring it to where Li'Ella is. Tormak gets mad and decides to keep the Artifact, and the hunters go away with Sir Fangar promising he'll never see Li'Ella again. Tormak once again looks at Li'Ella drawing, changes his mind and chases the hunters. Fluminox notices the Artifact's absence, goes after Tormak and tries to convice him to return it, but Tormak is determined to get his daughter back. Tormak takes the Artifact outside of Phoenix territory, and the Artifact explodes with a huge fire, burning Tormak and making him the panther from Eris' visions, Li'Ella drawing gets burnt, and Tormak runs away.
