Aug 17, 2021 · The Delta variant appears to be the most contagious variant yet. A report by the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling, Operational (SPI-MO) sub-group said Delta was 40% to 60% more contagious than the Alpha variant. Delta is about twice as contagious as the original strain of SARS-CoV-2.
