  2. Jul 12, 2019 · For a bike that has wet weather performance as one of its biggest selling points, this is still a major oversight. The locking, color-matched bags of the Tracer 900 GT are just waiting to be used on the Niken GT. Perhaps this will happen in 2020. Until then, so long Yamaha Niken GT. Thanks for all the (s)miles.

A taller screen would be worth investing in, and among the other Yamaha accessories are the £154 heated grips I have, which aren’t the most powerful, but they integrate well with the dash and existing switchgear.

    • The 2019 Yamaha Niken GT is best described as a motorcycle with two front wheels. While you can call it a trike or a three-wheeler, that discounts the primary motivator of the Niken GT—it leans like a motorcycle, rather than staying upright as we expect from a three-wheeled vehicle.
    • Yamaha based the Niken GT on the two-wheel Tracer 900 GT sport-tourer, but there are significant differences beyond the front end. The Niken GT takes the Crossplane Concept CP3 847cc triple from the Tracer 900 GT, and then adds some additional crankshaft inertia, a more robust transmission, two more teeth on the rear sprocket, and fueling adjustments to allow the motor to best propel the 125 pounds heavier Niken GT.
