Jul 10, 2017 · Most of our summer viewing this year has consisted of movies and TV series on two streaming services: Acorn TV and Warner Archive. The latter features both classic films and television, including all five seasons of Dr. Kildare (1961-66).
Kildare tries to find one solution for two women, one who loses her baby (Barbara Baxley) and one who doesn't want her newborn (Collin Wilcox). Kildare is forced to compete with a nun (Glynis Johns) in a battle between medicine and religion in order to save a young housewife (Pat Crowley).
In 1972, MGM Television created a short-lived syndicated drama series called Young Dr. Kildare, starring Mark Jenkins as Dr. James Kildare and Gary Merrill as Dr. Leonard Gillespie. The series was not a success, and only 24 episodes were produced.
