When Virginia and Burt realize they are suffering from "empty nest syndrome," Sabrina suggests they adopt a dog. However, after learning of an incident Jimmy had as a child, a volunteer at the local animal shelter won't let them adopt a dog until he conducts a three-day "trial period" in their home, with him acting as the dog.
Meanwhile, Jimmy tries to prove to Sabrina that he's still a ladies man after Sabrina suggests women only flirt with him when he's with Hope.
