Nick Flynn (born January 26, 1960) is an American writer, playwright, and poet. Life and career. Nick Flynn was raised by his mother in Scituate, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston . Flynn had no contact with his father throughout most of his childhood and adolescence as his parents separated when he was six months old. [1] .
Nick Flynn is the author of twelve books, including the memoirs Another Bullshit Night in Suck City and This Is the Night Our House Will Catch Fire, and the poetry collections I Will Destroy You and My Feelings. He has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Library of Congress, and his work explores themes of trauma, survival, art, and ethics.
Nick Flynn’s Another Bullshit Night in Suck City tells the story of himself as a confused young adult who struggles to avoid following his long lost father’s footsteps to homelessness and misery.
