By 1985, the BBC decided that music videos were such a good idea that it created a strange programme called The Golden Oldie Picture Show in which hairy Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis introduced new films which had been specially made to accompany famous pop hits from the pre-video years gone by.

Golden Oldie Picture Show was an entertainment series where directors would shoot music videos for past hits, which had never had videos made. It was presented by Radio 1 D.J., Dave Lee Travis. Produced by BBC Pebble Mill, it ran from 9th January 1985 to 22nd August 1988.
