Jochi (Mongolian: ᠵᠦᠴᠢ, also known as Jüchi or Tushi; c. 1182 – c. 1225) [1] was a prince of the early Mongol Empire. His life was marked by controversy over the circumstances of his birth and culminated in his estrangement from his family.
Jöchi was the eldest son of Genghis Khan and the founder of the White Horde and the Golden Horde. He died in 1227, six months after his father, and his lands were divided among his sons.
