Robert Gerard Tapert ( / ˈtæpərt /; [1] born May 14, 1955) is an American film and television producer, writer and director, best known for co-creating the television series Xena: Warrior Princess . He is also one of the founding partners of the film production companies Renaissance Pictures and Ghost House Pictures .
