  5. WHO KILLED THE CAT? is a slightly oddball, long forgotten British murder mystery with an old-fashioned feel to it; hard to believe this was released during the Swinging Sixties. A trio of pleasant old ladies find themselves persecuted by a younger lady, thus setting up a plot which involves poisoning and the titular moggy.

From the opening 'reading out a will to an expectant crowd' to closing 'what about all that then? <they all laugh>', everything is tropey, almost meta ("don't you ever watch the TV detective?") and a re-make could fit nicely as a 3rd Knives Out film.
