Mermaid's Scar (人魚の傷) is the second OVA of Mermaid Saga.
•There are some differences from the manga version which include:
•Masato's adopted mother having given the name Masato to the child.
•Yūta reviving in the burned house and taking a motorcycle with Mana to chase after Masato in the car.
•Masato's adopted mother originally not named in the manga was credited as Misa.
It was marketed as one of the Rumic World anime (along with Maris the Chojo, Fire Tripper, and Laughing Target). The second OVA, Mermaid's Scar, made by Madhouse, was released in Japan on VHS and Laserdisc on September 24, 1993. Viz Media published a dubbed release on VHS on November 21, 1995. The second tankōbon, Mermaid's Scar, was released on December 19, 1992, without the two remaining stories (4 chapters) as they had not yet been released when the book came out. The series was re-released in shinsoban format in 2003, in three volumes with all the stories.
