My Dream Is Yours is a 1949 American Technicolor musical romantic comedy film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Jack Carson, Doris Day, and Lee Bowman. This was a loose remake of the 1934 Twenty Million Sweethearts , starring Dick Powell and Ginger Rogers .
The story centers around the booming radio business in the late 1940s, with Doug Blake (Jack Carson), a talent scout and agent, about to lose his prize singer, Gary Mitchell (Lee Bowman). Doug has fought for years to make Mitchell a star and now that he’s a celebrity, Gary is ungrateful, spoiled and drinking heavily.
Conceited singer Garry Mitchell refuses to renew his radio contract, so agent Doug Blake decides to find a new personality to replace him. In New York, he finds Martha Gibson, a single mother with a great voice.
