Hamilton McKown Twombly Sr. (August 11, 1849 – January 11, 1910) was an American businessman.
Hamilton McKown “Ham” Twombly Jr. He died of heart failure while swimming across Squam Lake, Holderness, NH with a fellow Groton student, Orcott Allen. Ham's parents took a train up to NH to retrieve his body. His funeral took place on July 9 at St Thomas Church in Manhattan.

Florence Adele Vanderbilt Twombly (née Vanderbilt; January 8, 1854 – April 11, 1952) was an American socialite and heiress. She was a member of the prominent Vanderbilt family. She and her husband Hamilton McKown Twombly built Florham, a gilded age estate in Madison, New Jersey.
