YouTube Kids, YouTube & your child's Google Account When you use Family Link to create a Google Account for your child under 13, your child can use the YouTube Kids app where it’s available . However, they can't use any other YouTube apps, websites, or features until they turn 13 and manage their own Google Account.
Supervised experiences on YouTube let your child transition from YouTube Kids to YouTube with parental controls. With a supervised account, you can choose how much access to give your child on YouTube, filter out unwanted content, and manage your child’s screen time.

Under "YouTube Kids Settings," select EDIT next to “Content Settings.” Note: If you want to change their content setting to Approve content yourself, you have to use the YouTube Kids app to make this change. If you manage your child’s Google Account with Family Link, you can also change their content level setting from the Family Link app:
When you block a channel for your child's YouTube Kids profile using your linked parent account, you won't find it in YouTube Kids. You can also block a video or channel directly on YouTube Kids. You can change these settings at any time from Parent Settings in YouTube Kids or from your linked parent account’s Family Center. To change the settings for your child’s profile from YouTube Kids: Select the Lock in the corner of your screen. Complete the multiplication problem or enter your custom passcode. Select Settings .
