  5. You wouldn't be able to use SMS or make standard phone calls but apps like facebook messenger, Instagram, snapchat, WhatsApp should still work. Theoretically this wont cost you any money and will make it so you can communicate in the interim. I would look up how to reset the phone to factory settings but as far as I know you should be good to go.
